Today Microsoft released their 4th wave of Windows Live products. And especially Windows Live Movie Maker, the program I was waiting for! Ever since I’ve been married (it’s almost a year ago) and I would like to start editing our wedding/honeymoon video I’ve been struggling with the slow performance issues while editing M2TS (AVCHD) video content with the available video editing applications This was the only reason for my to try to install OS X on my Intel machine. It was workable, but it’s not the best solution. I think there could be 2 possible solutions :
- Buy a ‘real’ Mac to edit Full HD video;
- Find the right Windows-based solution to edit Full HD video.
Until now even I, as a real die-hard Windows fan, would go for option 1. But just a few hours ago Microsoft released the new version of Windows Live Movie Maker…with Full HD Support!!
For know the application isn’t available via the ‘normal’ Windows Live Download pages (http://download.live.com), but when you go to http://www.windowslive.com/desktop/moviemaker you are able to download the new version. When installing it just looks if it also updates the other installed Windows Live applications, but I can’t tell for sure!
In this new version it’s possible to import (HD) content from the most known video formats (m2ts, mkv, mpg, vob, dvr-ms, wtv, mov, mp4, m2v, qt, wm) and you can export your created movie ith a easy click to 1080/720P WMV HD format a video for you mobile device or a format you can e-mail, or you can upload it to YouTube. You can add more publishing plugins online.
Visit the Windows Live Movie Maker Homepage, or download the application.
