    Looks interesting, tnx!

  • Edwin

Thank you, we’ll go there !
(as it is available @ Prometric)

This is VERY interesting. This is dream come true. Always would like to know something more about the inside (internals) of Windows. This is an exam were I am not going for because I think I can pass but would love to see what kind of questions they ask and how hard they are. Is this an exam you can only pass when you really know all about dll’s, threads etc. or is it just an ‘average’ knowledge exam that most experienced Windows users pass?
Anyway, I have exam on August 5th.

  • Roel Janssens

Just booked my exam for July 24th, I’m very curious what the questions will be about.

Nobody has an exam-guide or something similar?

  • Roel : It looks the exam preparation page (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-660.mspx) isn’t available yet…

  • I’m trying to register for this exam on prometric but can’t see it in the list for Romania… 🙁

  • It’s possible that the exam isn’t available in your country. The 70-113 for example isn’t available in the Netherlands…

  • Most probably yes 🙁
I’ll look these days maybe maybe I’ll have some luck.

  • Nick

There was an error in that original posting, the test number is actually 71-660, not 70-660.

  • @Nick : I know 🙂 The Beta exams are ALWAYS starting with 71 (instead of 70).

  • ha ha. it’s available now in Romania. cheers!
I suggest that everyone who read this post to reply with how the exam was. I’ve scheduled mine in 5th aug.

Did exam 71-660 yesterday and I’m pretty sure I didn’t pass. There was 1 (one) question I was sure about that I had the right answer, but for the rest … *aaargh* … this was more a developer exam and not for an IT Professional.

  • I agree with Roel.

I subscribed when the exam content page wasn’t up yet, and i thought it was an exam that was a borderline between admin and developer.

But it was heavily focused on development. It’s probably a good exam for a driver developer or someone else that works near the kernel, but it’s definitively not for sysadmins.

I think i got about 33%-50% of the questions right – there were several issues that i learned to know from extended debugging sessions (e.G. poolmon, paged pool, nonpaged pool, etc.) – i guessed on the rest.

Well, you can’t win everyday 🙂

  • LOL @ Lukas : At last…an exam where you’re NOT going to be invited for to come to Seattle :p

  • Erik

Darn, did the exam today… I forgot almost every one off the one million options Windbg uses 🙁

This exam is not for a IT Pro…
This one is for “developers developers developers developers” (Steve Balmer)

  • I had it today and what can I say… omg, omg. 🙂
this exam is 100% for developers, not a single drop (or 1-2) for IT Pros… but that’s all.
Of course I’m not going to pass it since I quite have programming and I preffer to stay away from it.

  • Roel

Got my score report last week … 530 points!

That isn’t too bad after all, I didn’t understand any question they asked me (okay, except one about a registry key).

  • Helmer

LOL @ Roel 🙂 That isn’t too bad if you didn’t understand ANY question at ALL! 🙂

  • Erik

Got my score also… 570… not bad for a exam from with a lot of gambling for the answer… 😀

  • DDDDepressionnnn

    Depression Depression Depression aaaaaaaa
    HEEEEELP 🙁 🙁 🙁
I hate winter! I want summer!

  • Daniel J Aguiar

Did exam today. After a lot of preparation passed with 700 score.

If you are a Performance or “Windows Crash” troubleshooter and your job forces you to go low level and find the root cause of all problems… that is your exam…

Did exam today. After spending many days and nights on preparations i passed the exam with 799 score.
