The last time Microsoft has changed the names of their certifications paths has been quite some time ago, but the MCITP and MCTS weren’t Cloudy enough. This is the reason Microsoft has announced some new certification paths : MCSA, MCSE and MCSM.
I see some of the more ‘senior’ IT Pro’s think….we already have those! That’s right…..back in the old days we could certify as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer! Where do the new abbreviations stand for?
- MCSA – Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
- MCSE – Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
- MCSM – Microsoft Certified Solutions Master
At the moment the following ‘new’ certifications are available :
The MCSM certification will be available for the next versions of Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, Active Directory, and SQL Server. The first two MCSM certifications will be for SQL Server 2012 tracks.
Compare the old and the new certifications…
